In today’s class we will be watching some videos and begin learning HTML. We will use Notepad to create our first web page. It is extremely important that you listen carefully and follow the video.
Afterwards, please visit Scratch and sign up. We will be using Scratch later in class to learn about programming and designing.
You can also check out Quintura, Zeeks, Kids National Geographic, How Stuff Works, and FunBrain.

Today we’re going to start learning about building websites. You will be working independently, at your own pace. However, you may ask for as much help as you need. You may also listen to music, but you must use headphones.
Please go to the Webmonkey for Kids website and click on Lessons. Please follow lessons A through D. In order to learn to build your own web pages, it is really important that you read each lesson thoroughly and understand all of the related concepts. At the end of class, please leave a comment on this blog post indicating your first name and which lessons you were able to complete.
Next week we will go over some basic design concepts for building and designing websites.
